Justin was blown up by an IED in Afghanistan in 2010 which resulted in him losing both his legs and one arm. In 2012 a non profit organization built a fully accessible home for him. We were never told anything or received any letters about property tax and were led to believe since he is 100% disabled he was exempt. We have a five year old son and I am my husband’s care giver and take care of our son and home. I do not have a job outside of our family, which is a 24/7 job. We just received a call from our county stating that since my husband is not a POW we are not exempt like we were led to believe. We now owe $3,248 by the end of June or the county is putting our home up for SALE. The total amount we need to be out of this mess is $8, 554. We have a lot of pride and hate asking for help.
